More about Katherine:"Started out as a junior foreign service cultural affairs officer in India, DC and Mexico but quit over distaste for the politics and policies of the Republicans. Joined the National Endowment for the Arts and roamed the country helping media artists-in-residence find their way. Moved to the Big Apple to help create a national public television series funding independent documentarians; that lasted about 8 years. continued with them distributing 4 China documentaries learning about distribution in the process. Got a Ph.D. in Organization Change (see why I love Obama) and a certificate in teaching English as a second language. Taught ESL for over 7 years and have created a successful unique book discussion class for the 92nd St Y involving a novel about a country and a guest from that country to join me in helping introduce not-so-well-known places to mostly American women who register for the daytime class. Just joined AARP's International Affairs NYC based office where the work involves monitoring what other countries are doing vis-a-vis their senior populations - at the UN - and helping them better understand what we in the US are doing.".
