Kathi's Story
Life
I started working at White Sands Missile
Range 3 days after I graduted thanks to our pink haired typing teacher that made us take the Civil Service Test. I married a year later. Had 2 kids. Stayed home for one year. Lucked into a job with the Immigration Service which I stayed at for over 20 years. I had my third child, then divorced and went to Albuquerque with Immigration as an Officer (my husband would never allow have allowed it!)....I loved it!! It was my favorite job ever!!! But stressful and huge amounts of work. Me, I couldn't let the work pile up, so worked alot of overtime for free....it took its toll, so when my kids had grown and gone I applied all over the world. Got selected for a Drug Diversion Agent for DEA in the Carolina'a and for an INspector with the Army in Korea...accepted both and took the first one that cleared me to start. I took the Army job in South Korea as the Deputy Inspector General. Stayed there for 4 years, met my best friend. Married and moved to Germany as the Deputy Inspector General. VERY INTERESTING! Love the travel in both places, loved the people in Korea even more! I've been to Czech,Switz,Italy,Spain,Luxemborg,France,Belguim,Austria,Poland and hope to go to alot more very, very soon!
Am now divorced, and still loving it in Germany but am back with the love of my life, Immigration!!!! I was at the American Consulate in Germany and still traveling all the time. Next is Greece and the ice hotel in Norway, then on to Moscow and Egypt!!! Moving back to the states in a few weeks, Raleigh, North Carolina!!! Hear Asheville is one of the happiest places in the U.S. but still comes after Denmark and Singapore....hope to catch up and se...Expand for more
