Kathie's Story
Life
After HHS, I went to OSU, where one of my biggest thrills was playing a championship powder puff football game in the 'Shoe. After graduating from OSU, I taught a couple of years of high school and then began working at Denison University as a Financial Aid Advisor.
I went back to OSU as their Scholarship Supervisor and served as the liaison to the Athletic Department. I stayed at OSU until 1984 when I moved to Las Vegas and worked at UNLV. I began as a Student Employment Coordinator, but progressed to an Assistant Director of the Financial Aid Department.
After 16 years, my significant other and I moved to beautiful Sonoma County (in Northern California)where I took a job as Director of Financial Aid and Veteran Services at Santa Rosa Junior College (the largest single campus community college in the country)!

r two dogs and our bird) lived in a middle of an apple orchard with vineyards all around us. We were 15 minutes from the ocean and less than an hour from San Fran.
After a year and a half, I decided that working at a community college was not for me, so we began looking for other places. The entire summer of 2001 was spent interviewing all across the country, turning down a few offers until I found the right one.
I have the great fortune to be working at one of the largest universities in the California State University system--Cal State University @ Northridge. This whole campus has been rebuilt since the devastating earthquake in 1994.
Currently, we are living in a townhouse provided by the university until we move our stuff from Northern California. Hopefully, we will move close to the ocean again, since we really enjoy the beach!
