Kathie's Story
This past year, 2008, I hosted our 40 year class reunion. What a challenge that was!! I had never tempted to do this kind of thing and in the end, I had a great time. It was wonderful seeing classmates and missing those who did not attend, passed away and those we could not locate.
For the past 16 years, I have lived in the great state of Hawaii on the island of Oahu. It was a dream of mine to live here and I have enjoyed it completely. The weather is warm most of the year and when you get used to the weather, you get cold at 68 degress or less. Tourists just laugh at us, but, I ask them "do you get cold when it drops 15 degrees or more where you live?". Of course, they answer "Yes", then you know how we feel.

Maoari dancing. I absolutely love it! My Kumu Hula (teacher) is so patient and alot of fun. We have become great friend. My hula sister, Charmaine, and I dance for entertainer friends in Waikiki sometimes. It was scarry at first, but now I love doing it. The response is very fulfilling; people from all over the world give us some of the best compliments.
Every December we go to Las Vegas (our 9th island) for the NFR Rodeo. What a great adventure that is. The people, cowboys and cowgirls, are amazing. They compete all year and the best of the best are the ones who compete at the NFR.
I have lost both my parents, all but I aunt and of course the many cousins I have. Life sure has changed.
So, I must say Aloha to all and hope to see my classmates, friends and family again soon.
