Kathleen's Story
After graduation, I worked for an insurance company as a secretary. I married my husband Frank in 1972 and moved just one town over to Woodbridge., were we raised two boys.
For many years, I worked with my husband managing the office for our small construction company. Once the boys went off to college, I went to work at the BIC Corporation to help with the tutition bills. I stayed there for 10 years. Tutition paid off and the boys on their own, I left to take a part-time job with the Human Services Department for the Town of Woodbrige.
After Frank retired, I began to work full time in the Woodbridge Town Hall. I enjoyedmy work in the Building Department as an Admin Asst. I worked with many of my friends from town who's children grew up with mine. It is a wonderful place to work, just 1 mile from my home.
Frank is a national judge for NCRS (National Corvette Restorer's Society). We have 1967 Roadsters (the only year for a Corvette accordng to my husband). This has given us an opportunity to see much of the country,...Expand for more
see many interesting sites and make friends in many states.
My most memorable trip was to Ireland with my sister, Marilou in 1999. We travelled through towns where my father's family had lived but never got to Leitrim, my father's birthplace. It was especially enjoyable that I got to share this experience with my sister. I hope we get to go back to visit Leitrim and maybe bring our husbands. I did say "maybe", right??
I hope life has treated my fellow classmates well and that we will meet again at our 50th in 2014.
UPDATE -2017 - After visiting my husband's family in Florida for almost 40 years, we finally fulfilled our dream of moving to Florida. We purchased our home near Ormond Beach in April . We are fortunate to have family and friends in the area and look forward to enjoying the Florida lifestyle..
Unfortunately, after 50 years of marriage and 53 years together, my loving husband and life partner passed on Christmas Day 2022. I will remain in The Villages in Florida where Frank and I made wonderful friends.
