Kathleen's Story
It will soon be forty years since I graduated from Texas High but I still feel 19 yrs old in my mind (my mind, not my body). I have been fortunate to have lived in Texarkana most of my life and keep up with a lot of the kids from school. In fact, I have worked with Linda Crisp and Angie Holmes for over 20 years. We got a newcomer about 4 yrs. ago, Bill Curtis, so THS is well represented at Neurosurgical Associates. I also spent a wonderful weekend year before last at Camp Albert Pike with Melissa and Judy Claussen, Mary Sue Gildon, Lynda McBride, Jean Sterling, Madeline Brown and my BFF Debbie Curry who paid me the greatest compliment ever. She said it was "an honor" to be my friend. Of course, this was after about 12 wine...Expand for more
coolers, so I'm not sure that counts. And, come to think of it, this was also after she almost drowned me in 6 inches of water. I feel very fortunate to still have friends that I have known for fifty+ years and really enjoy seeing and hearing about them. I lost touch for the 22 years my second husband and I were married. He was the love of my life and we did everything together until the day he died of cancer in February, 2005. Friends seemed pretty unnecessary during those 22 years until Robert was diagnosed with cancer, and then they became essential. And for some reason, the oldest friends seem to understand and care the most. That's what intrigued me about this website and I hope to hear from some "oldies, but goodies".
