Kathleen's Story

After graduating Jackson Memorial, I attended Glassboro State, now Rowan University. I ended up marrying and living Glassboro before getting my degree. My husband was in the Navy and off I went to Charleston SC.It was a beautiful state, however, the marriage did not last and I came back to Jackson to raise my two girls as a single mother with the support of my family around me. After years of struggling raising Margo and Nicole I went back to continue my education which I put on hold for way to long. I graduated Ocean County College with a Visual technology degree. I went back to my good old Jackston Memorial as a substitute teacher...Expand for more
and attended Georgian Court University to receive a bachlors degree in Fine Arts/Secondary Education. I finally graduated in 2007 Cum Laude and I am presently teaching art at Manasquan High School. It is what I was meant to do... My girls are grown Margo 25, and she is attending Georgian Court University expected to graduate 2010, and Nicole 21 and is a waitresses at Longhorns, hopefully she will figure it out that she needs an education for a good career. Though I no longer live in Jackson, I haven't gone far. I bought a condo in Toms River and live a mile from my parents, who have become my best friends. I guess I have grown up!
