Kathleen's Story
Life
Life has been really good to me. I have been married to Gary for 37.5 happy years. We have a son 36 years old, Zach, in the Navy for over 17 years to serve and protect. We have a daughter, Andrea, who is 34 years old and had graduated from St. Mary's College. Andrea was married April 30, 2010 in Maui. We have son-in-law, Brent.
I have my MA degree in Learning Disabilities/Instructional Technology. I received teaching credentials in adult/vocational education. I completed my Adult Learning Disability Credential at CSU, Sacramento. I have been in the teaching profession for over 34 years. I try to keep in contact with a few of my former classmates. I have reconnected with more high school friends thru Facebook and more since our 40th class reunion. I can now even Skype with my old high school friends. It is nice to see my friends via video chats!!
I have a business training people on assitive technology software applications and use of adaptive/assistive devices. My office is located in Santa Clara, Buob Computer Training and Consulting (BuobCTC). If you ever need help learning how to use computers and software, contact me through my e-mail or website - buobctc.com. Wishing all my friends a happy life.

ar and graduated in January 1971. I attended Ohlone College and focused on office skills so I could get a job. I later transferred to DeAnza College and graduated with an AA Degree in Learning Disabilities.
Workplace
In the past 40 years since graduating from Newark High School, I have focused on a goal to find a profession that I could be proficient and knowledgeable. The fields of knowledge and skill have been in web editing, assistive technology with computers, learning disabilities and alternate media technology. Through many years of education, continuing education and training seminars, I have been able to accomplish the goals I have set out for myself.
I have been going to various disability conferences in California, out of state or internationally. I am a presenter who gives workshops about how alternate media helps students with special needs or how accessible course material can be developed by faculty before students begin taking their courses. I co-present with others to get the message out on disability technology and training.
I am at a point in my life where I can provide services to others who require training or retraining. The clients I have worked with improved their job skills or personal goals to learn computer technology. It has taken a long time to get where I am in my profession, but I did it with the help of loving and supportive family and friends. I can give back to my community with what I have learned.
