Kathleen's Story
Life is good........update 2016
I am single, retired and living in DFW Area of Texas. I have three wonderful daughters. Cricket 39, Renee 34, Heather 31 (revised July 2016) I have 12 living grandkids and one Grand Angel**. 3 were bonus grandkids* from my son in laws' prior marriages. Haley* 22, Myah* 15, Richie 14, Mason 13, Taylor Moon 13, Danielle 12, Megan** would be turning 12, Skyler* 11, Preston 10, Brayden 8, Kenzie 7, and Summer 4 and Autumn 7 weeks old........and I think that will be it.....Unless I marry again someday to someone with grandkids.... the more the merrier. BBQs and Birthdays are huge. I think we qualify for the group rate when we all go somewhere together. Oh I will have a great-grandson in Sept 2016.
I Split my Senior year between Encinal and a school named Bolsa Grande in Westminster, CA. My mom and step-dad planned to move back to Tennessee and I tried everyway in my power to stay in Alameda... but the week following Christmas my dad came up from SoCal and bowled The Midas Open at Mel's Bowl and took my sister, brother and I back to Garden Grove with him. hey had great school program, but it wasnt home... 1st period started at 6 am. I went from 6am-12pm then straight to work fulltime for a CPA in Anaheim, If I didnt miss Alameda and everyone I knew so much I might have stayed but I worked Tax Season preparing taxes, (thank you Encinal for 'Model Office class" 2 periods of what the real world of business would possibly be like. Thanks to College of Alameda for ability to be enrolled for classes as a Senior at Encinal and first year at College of Alameda. I took Data Processing..... all those IBM punch cards, and huge card reader, verify, and the card to tape computer taking up a huge area. And I took Income Tax Accounting.
When tax season ended I moved myself back to Alameda and live with friends, attended Senior Prom, Senior Picnic, didnt ditch, and the rest of the events. and Graduation with our class... with people that I went to Kindergarten with.... Perry Cross, Tim Landig so many others from Woodstock, Longfellow, Chipman.
If life is a full meal deal, grandkids are the dessert, sometimes you wish you could have had them first.
