Kathleen's Story
I enlisted in the Navy April 1966 for my 6 year obligation. I began my tour of duty on August 3 1966. I was never out to sea. My main duty stations were Alameda Naval Air Station Alameda, California. Where I was assigned to the aviation fuel supply and delivery divison. Then to Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada where I did a very similar job. And back to Alameda Air where I then worked in the crash and salvage division. By this time I was a Petty Officer and was given the job of an Arresting Gear Petty with a crew of eight sailors.

alled her one night at the cost of 25 dollars for three minutes saying, I miss you, I love you, will you marry me? Kathy and I have been married 39 years. She was and is the right one for me.
In May of 1970 I was discharged from the Navy. I began working for Mack Trucks, Mack Western Hayward, California. Every thing was going great. Both of us were working and In 1971 we bought our first house we had a new and car and truck Unfortunatly January 1973 my father William Allen was fataly injured in a freak accident at the Kentucky Ford Plant where he worked as a mintenace pipe fitter. He was 52 years old. In 1974 I thought maybe I should try more service time. I accepted the rate sargent in the U.S. Army California Natioinal Guard with a program called Try One. Things were not the way they shoud have been. So try one is what I did.
