Kathleen's Story
Although I didn't actually graduate froM WRHS, I still think about a lot of the people from there since they were friends from grade 1. I ended up in Dayton, Ohio studying Anthropology. I currently live on the Central Coast of California. I am married and have two children. I have been a stay at home mom. I guess I followed the pattern my mom set. Although I am not really Mrs. Cleaver. My son is 30 and a graphic artist. (He actually has a business card which says "Artist".) He designs bicyclist jerseys. My daughter is 20 and attending Cal State Long Beach majoring in International Studies and Political Science with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. I have spent the last 30 years raising my two wonderful children and grateful, every day, that I was able to be able to be a stay at home mom. My son was easy. But my daughter required time. She was a competitie gymnast for 10 years, training in a town 60 miles away 3-4 days a week. When she hit high school, she decided she wanted a life. So she became a cheer leader. ght a van. Also, we were the gathering place. On any given night, I would have 50 or so highschoolers in my house -- better here than somewhere else. It was fun but I am sort of glad that part is over. My husband Gary and I have spent the last couple of years recovering our home.
I am married to a wonderful man. Gary is the City Administrator for our city. A bit of a headache of a job but we are starting to count the days before retirement. We spend our spare time working around the house and travelling. We have been to Europe twice and are also discovering what American has to offer. We are currently trying to decide where we want to retire to--So far we have it narrowed down to Kennebunkport, Maine or Florence, Italy. Or maybe we will stay here. I guess a lot of it will be determined by where the kids settle. Nate, my son, is thinking seriously about Chicago. My daughter will end up with the government, either in New York or Washington. Because she is learning Mandarin, with a 4.0, she is pretty much guaranteed a job somewhere. She is hopingg for the CIA or UN. Who knows.
I hope that I hear from people from the high school.
