Kathleen's Story
Married Ken Thompson ('70) right out of high school, divorced several years later. Remarried to a Marine who had custody of two young daughters. We lived in Philadelphia, North Carolina, Southern California, and Hawaii, before he retired from the military in 1988 and we moved to Michigan (where he was from originally).
Together we have two sons, all the kids are grown now. No children from our sons, but we have grandchildren and great-grandchildren through this daughters. I got two masters degrees (from Western Michigan University), one in Acc...Expand for more
ountancy and the other in Public Administration. After that, worked in accounting/finance for nonprofits and government. I retired from Kalamazoo County government earlier this year; my husband is retired again (his civilian career was as a truck driver) too. In December 2014 we will have been married 40 years.
We live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, very rural. Entirely different life from the hectic pace of earlier years..
