Kate's Story

I'm currently training for long duration spaceflight as a member of the 2009 Astronaut class at NASA. I finished PhD in Molecular Biology at Stanford in 2006. My husband Michael and I moved to Boston in August of 2007. I started my lab at MIT/White...Expand for more
head Institute for Biomedical Research, studying the host immune defense to pathogens. I researched viral pathogens at MIT and in the Democratic Republic of Congo for three years before my selection as an Astronaut. We currently live in Houston, TX.
