Kathleen's Story
Life
I have been married for 34 years to Richard Hoffmann. We own an Electrical Contracting firm in St. Helens, Oregon. I have worked for my husband for 32 years as the office manager at our business. I plan on retiring April 1, 2008. My husband isn't ready to retire yet but I have lots of plans. Being a full time grandma, traveling, scrapbooking, and lots of kraft projects. I might just do nothing some days and find out how that feels.
I have been working full time since high school. I care for my Mom one day a week and stay with her in Longview. I have a handicapped son who lives and works in Porland now (he's 31) but I still pick him up and bring him home for the weekend every week. I love my grandchildren more than any...Expand for more
thing and talk to them every day. We travel to pro football, pro baseball and racing events every year.
One of my grandchildren Dylan Westrick races all over the United States and I try to go to all of his races. He is the first 11 year old in the United States to win a points championship in a micro sprint car that tops out at 110 MPR. My life is full and very busy.
I don't expect retirement to be an end to anything...I look at it as the beginning of lots of new adventures.
My retirement gift from Midway Electeric was a trip to Taladega, Alabama to a Nascar Race. I just got back and can't quit smiling:):) It was AWESOME. My goal for my old age is to travel to at least one or two Nascar tracks a year to see the races. YAHOO!!
