Kathleen's Story
This year is the year I almost died. I had surgery and the doctor made a mistake and cut a major artery. I had a minor heart attack and was in a coma for 6 weeks. I was sent to UMass from Emerson to have a trach put in. They had me so drugged up I was seeing things that were not there. After that I was in rehab and could not wait to get home. After I got home and was getting ready to be released from the visiting nurses I fell off my front porch and cracked my head open. I was so weak from not having any exercise for at least 2 months.

I am glad to be alive but missed so much during that time.
I have a great granddaughter who will be a year on the 28th of January. I have three granddaughters. I love them to bits. They are what helped me get through this period.
My husband and I are still together after 28 years. He went through hell during this time more than anyone. Love sure shows up in the strangest way.
My daughter and son were torn up but showed the brave sides of themselves. Sometimes that is not always a good thing but I couldn't have done it without them.
