Kathleen's Story
I came to Mansfield for the sixth grade. I was introduced to the class as Kathy Taylor, but some of the students chose to call me other names like Taco and Burrito..That would be Russell Anderson. You can only image why?!! I asked him why he kept calling me that and he said because your mexican. I told him I was from Hawaii and then he started to call me Pineapple. But anyways....
We graduated sixth grade an went on to the Middle school. I remember taking Spanish(which I loved the teacher, anyone remember her name?),Advanced Algebra, and Avanced SCience...Ran for class treasury and then had to leave(moved out of town).
Came back to start 9th grade ...Expand for more
and left in 10th grade to move to California. Mansfield schools brought such joyous memories that I wanted to see how everyone was doing.
I live in a small town on the outskirts of Kansas. I work as a night auditor for a chain hotel and drive a truck for the school district. The picture you see is a picture of my grand daughter. She is two years old and a big part of my life.
I lost my better half in 2003 which was devastating. To make a long story short I'm a single parent raising my last child who will be 18 in May.
My life may not be interesting but its mine. I happen to like it. It could be better and it could be worse, but for now its good.
