Kathleen's Story
After graduation, I attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, School of Nursing and graduated in 1972. Growing up with the Vietnam War, I decided to try to do my part and joined the Army Nurse Corps. After a brief stint at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, I recieved orders for NATO/SHAPE Headquarters in Mons, Belgium. Came back to the states to marry my husband, Bob Cormack who was a helicopter pilot in the Army. After another 6 months, we were at least on the same European continent. tetrics and Pediatrics the entire time I was active duty. Have 2 children, Stephanie born in 1975 in Germany and Patrick, born 1978 born in California. Accompanied my husband around the country, where ever he was assigned until his retirement in 1987. Setteled in Kerrville, Texas and I have been with the VA for the past 18+ years. Just completed 35 years of Federal/Civil/Active Duty Service and retired from a paying job in 2012. Still active in the Texas State Guard, Medical Rangers and deploy across the state when needed.
