I have stayed fairly local. I just jumped up one county. I have two adult children. My daughter is in Chicago with her husband and son, with one on the way! My son is in North Carolina with his wife and their two teenage children. Everyone is everything I hoped for. I have had some really rewarding jobs. In the late sixties I went to work for the new office called "Head Start." What an exciting time to work in DC and represent the mid Atlantic states in getting their projects up and running. My specific job was to help the new employees on how to get paid. When my husband was drafted and sent to Vietnam, I collapsed back to my parents home and spent 2 years writing letters to my husband and to President Nixon, and calling the Pentagon. He returned wounded but good enough to be retrained here at Ft. Mead for tanks. As he was recouping, I started work in a private nursery school in Kensington, MD, Barbelle Creative Center for Children. Favorite job ever is working with children. I continued my studies and was certified for teaching and eventually became the director of the school.
