Kathleen's Story

My Story. very long. But in a nutshell. Went to Trocaire College after graduation. My dream was to be a registered nurse. Graduated from nursing school in 1971, and have been working as a registered nurse ever since. Have been married a coulple of times. It will be my 7th wedding anniversary in june. Thats been the longest of any of my marriages. I can honestly say, my career has been the most constant thing in my adult life. I have lived up and down the east coast, and have settled in south Carolina. I love it here. About two hhours from the beach. See snow rarely. which is ok with me. I live in the country. I guess the country living is in my blood. was never happy in the burbs or in the city. I have one daughter. her name is Lisa, age 35 not married. I think she is afraid to make the mistakes I have made. I enjoy the beach and fishing off the pier. I spend a lot of time in my yard. grow veggies, herbs, and flowers. love the birds. Have bird feeders set out allover the yard. the best time is in the summer when the hummingbirds come to visit. I sit for hours and watch them. I hated the country growing up, but i wouldnt live anywhere else. I am a lousy housekeeper. Hate housework. For a while, when i could afford it, I had someone coming to clean the house. But my husband lost his job in this lousy economy, so i am back to doing housework again. At least he cooks, and occasi...Expand for more
onally does the dishes. he has no clue as to what the washer and dryer are, and the vaccuum!!!what is that. I can really say i am the happiest i have been in my entire life. I was very unsure of myself growning up, but as i have gotten older, I now know who i am, and make no excused for it. I Still have a bit of a youngster in me, and i am fighting this aging, and growing old thing all the way. Its not going to get me. HAHA. Actually it has gotten me, arthritis, multiple back surgeries, but i keep on going. I discovered late in life that life is too short. I guess i am making up for it in a way. My darkest moment was when my dad died unexpectantly in 1987. threw me for a loop. Thats when i new i had to enjoy every minute that God gave me, and dont waste any precious time. It could be gone tomorrow. I would definitly do a few things over, if i could, but there is no sense in crying over spilt milk. thats why, 10 yrs ago i moved to my dream destination, south carolina, to be near the Grand Strand, and totally embrace beach living. It has turned my life around. I also enjoy Nascar, and NFL. Can you tell i had 5 brothers. I have become very high maintanence. who would have thought it. Need the matching shoes, purse and jewelry. along with all the latest anti wrinkle stuff, and anti gray hair stuff. Like i said, i am fighting old age kicking and screaming. Thats it for now. kathy
