Kathryn's Story

Life Even though everyone thought Jim and I were twins, we are not. Irish twins, maybe, but definitely not born on the same day. I'm 11 months younger, but unfortunately was 'skipped' into his grade back when we were 2nd and 3rd graders in the Bronx. He is so into this site, keeps badgering me to get into this, but I just don't have the time. Husband, house and 3 kids later, barely have time for my college/work friends, let alone high school!!! I do have wonderful memories, though, of our senior lunch at T.Z. something or other, and of course, our 10th year reunion. Jim still lives in Rockland, so always hear of newsworthy events. Shocked by the death of Matt Devine, I saw him a few years back at a deli right here in my hometown. Guess we are all getting old, whether we like it or not... Became a paralegal at a big intellectual property law firm in Manhattan. Decided to be a SAH mom after the 2nd baby, still plugging along, learning from my kids, neighbors, grocers, etc. Dad died in 2001 before 9/11 thank God, that would have killed him right then and there. Often go to St. Anthony's to visit his grave, and stop in to Rockland Bakery for rolls for the family, never realizing back then what a treat that was on Sunday mornings,...Expand for more
going there w/my Dad and Jimmy, seeing if I can get away with a bite, esp. if they were hot, before we paid!!!! Married a wonderful guy from Wellington, New Zealand, big fan now of Rock. Bakery rolls. Owns his own business, and has them delivered to N.J. for office functions. Often think about what my 8th grade daughter is bring home from her health class, re: oral sex, STD's, AIDS, etc. What a difference in our 8th grade health class. Does anyone remember a young female health teacher in the Jr. High back then? I heard she passed away when we were in high school. I remember Mr. Gallo singing "Ain't no Sunshine When she's Gone" about the teacher next door with the LONG blonde hair when she was absent. Can't think of her name right now, want to saw Ms. Thomas, but I'm probably getting confused with Mr. Thomas and Ms. Egan in H.S. Cried like a baby over the loss of Ms. Egan. We used to sit next to each other 10 years or so ago in the hair salon in my town, where her mom lives. Couldn't believe she never married... still so good w/the kids. It took alot of prodding to remember me in her typing/office skills, shorthand class, it was way too long for her, but she loved my girls. Gotta sign off, let's see what this brings. ...
