Kathy's Story

First off my name is Kate. Kathy was a long time ago. My husband Pat was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 36 so i'm not into drunk people. I have 3 daughters and one grand daughter. I have 9 dogs and 1 cat and 1 fish and would love to have a farm full of animals. I bore and raised my children in Delaware. I was a published freelance writer at the time. As a widow I moved with my children to Florida where I became a true Floridian in my heart. After 10 glorious years and one too many hurricanes I packed up and moved to the desert in New Mexico. I will always love and miss Florida, but the wonderful dry climate is great for my pug dogs and for me. There's nothing quite so gorgeous as the desert...which surprised me. I look out my front door and beyond my 2 acres of fenced in desert and on beyond the hundreds of acres surrounding me to the moutains in the distance. Incredible. I live outside the village of Tularosa which was quite literally the last of the wild west frontier. Every day I see real cowboys and Indians:) I was shocked the first time I saw an old cowhand on his horse pulling along a couple of packed mules. Yesterday I was outside burning old tumbleweeds with the dogs when 2 horses and their riders came flying across the acerage kicking up dust and hootin' and hollerin'. It was great fun to watch and I can't believe I actually went from little Gl...Expand for more
oucester City to the Wild West Frontier. So how about all of you? You can email me at "katesminis at tularosa dot net" if you know me. Story ideas: *What happened to your first crush. Well, I was shocked to discover that my big strong handsome boy had grown up to be a big strong handsome man who died at the age of 54! One of my major crushes was a few years younger than me and went to Gloucester High after I graduated. I think we talked about getting married at one point but we ended up going our seperate ways. I've always had a soft spot for the big lug. *How do I hope my old friends remember me? Hmmmm. I'm not sure. I moved to Haddon Heights when I was 15. *To be truly happy .... I think I am truly happy though I would certainly enjoy taking up the world traveling that I did when I was younger. And it would be great to do so with a great friend. *My biggest surprise in life would be: LIFE it sure did turn out to be a different creature than I thought it would. *You get one do-over. What do you do differently If we are on this earth to learn lessons then I wouldn't change anything as I've learned so much. Otherwise I'd change just about everything...starting with not marrying my first husband! AND after my second husband, and father of my daughters, was killed I would have dated instead of playing mommy for 17 years! Hello? What was I thinking? LOL
