Kathy's Story
Life
We have 3 children-2 daughters and one son-ages 21, 18. & 8. Meagan, our oldest, has two years at Armstrong College under her belt and is planning on returning this fall. Our son Randy II, is a senior at Savannah Arts Academy. His major is Visual Arts. His choice of college more than likely will be Armstong to get his core classes out of the way and then most likely UGA :)
As you can now tell,we started over since our 20th Reunion- and had one more child and yes, it WAS planned. Our youngest daughter Amber just turned 8 and is a happy third grader. I am also recognized by the other children there as not by my first or last name at Amber's school but referred to as "The Jello Jiggler Mom" and also as "Amber's Mom". I will be the Room Parent again for this year as I have always done so with our other two children. I have been each of their Room Parents since they were each in Pre-School and up thru each of their fifth grades- The children tend to draw the line when they get to middle school. As I am sure that you all already know from experience, that it is just not cool to have your mom around when you get to that age. We are currently about to embark on another round of the Girl Scouts, now with our youngest Amber. You can't live in Savannah, GA. home of Juliette Gordon Low /Founder of the Girl Scouts and not be involved in Girl Scouts for at least a couple of years. I have already been there and done that with our oldest Meagan, as one of their Girl Scout Leaders and before it is all said and done, will probably end up as one of Amber's Asst .Girl Scout Leaders.
My husband and I recently purchased our own business back in 2006. We are the proud new owners of WIN Home Inspection. This is great because we
get to see alot more of him now that HE is his own boss.
I am still working at the same law firm : Doug Andrews Law Office & Associates- now going on 15 years there and loving it. My boss aka my Dad, Attorney and Judge also is on a weekly tv show here in Savannah called "Law C...Expand for more
all" We specialize in Criminal & DUI Cases.
In addition, I also manage a couple of rental properties here in Savannah for my father.
We still live on Wilmington Island, Ga (right down the road from Tybee Beach in Savannah, Ga.) Unfortunately, Paula Deen is my neighbor and lives 3 houses down from us. Trust me when I say, it is not all it's up cracked up to be - being neighbors with Paula. Just ask our other neighbors :)
Since this past year, I have gotten involved in local politic's. We are gearing up again for the next election, now that it is in our blood.
My husband and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary- (even though he tells everyone it is our 30th) -I wanted to wait 5 Years before we got married. We met in Nurnburg, Germany.
We took our first trip without any of our children in April 07 and had sooooo much fun. Went to California and drove back through all of the states back home with no set schedule. I gotta tell you- Las Vegas is the place to go if you have never been-OMG...so much fun!! I'm not talking about the gambling either-just all of the lights, shows, bands and oh yeah, did I mention drinking? We had a blast! Ended up staying in Vegas 4 days/3 nights. I don't care for flying but am already checking out the fares for the next time.
Randy traded in his other Harley and got a Harley touring bike this past summer. We are having alot of fun! Looking forward to the Toy Run for the Needy Children in our area coming up the 1st weekend in Dec. 07. It is a very rewarding experience.
Randy and I attended SouthView's 30th Class Reunion. Oy my gosh...sooo much fun! I didn't think our 20th Class Reunion could be topped, however, I was wrong. It was so great to see everyone again. We even had classmates show up that had not attended the 20th. David Andrews and his wife, Manuela came all the way from Germany. They of course won the award for traveling the most distance. It was great seeing and meeting Manuela. I hope they will be able to come to our next reunion as well.
