Life After High School I attended Arizona State University for two years. I Majored in Music, thinking I wanted to be a Music Teacher and Minored in Business. I was funding myself through school and after two years I had to take a break and make some money; I really was having second thoughts on the teaching remembering how the Music Teachers would usually have a hard time with the rowdy kids....I didn't think I could do that. So,I got a job at Scottsdale Employment Agency, and waited for a really good job to come in and sent myself out on the interview!!! I worked for the Attorney for over a year. I met my husband and married him in 1962. We have three children, two boys and one girl. I stayed home with the children, but I did continue to perform with the Phoenix Music Theatre until 1970, it was just too hard to try to deal with three children and go on tour too. In 1972 we had a home built on 3/4 of an acre at Union Hills & 67th Avenue,in Arrowhead Estates, right next to a beautiful citrus orchard. This is where I started to garden, raise rabbits,goats and chickens and be a 4-H leader. I also supplemented our income by selling Avon & Tupperware. In 1976 one of our neighbors mentioned that he needed a Secretary, he was one of the top agents at Realty Executives. He hired me and within a short time I decided to get my license so I could be a more knowlegable assistant. Well, I was sent out to meet clients at a home to show it as my boss was double booked.I happened to meet another couple there to, showed them a couple of other homes and came back with two offers which were accepted. My boss looked at me and said "you are now on the sales force". By 1989 I was named one of the Top 30 Realtors in Phoenix. Our oldest son, Dave, joined me in 1989 as I was getting so busy I couldn't handle it all myself.
