Kathy's Story
What did I do before now? Graduated from FSU where I loved my four years, especially the last two when I "flew through the air with the greatest of ease" as a member of the FSU Circus's flying team (completed the demanding double somersault). Worked in Tallahassee a year then moved to Miami where Bill and I were married, brought two boys into the world, and thankfully left in 1994 to move to the mountains of North Carolina. We never looked back. I worked for the local hospital and then earned my History Masters Degree, a life-time goal of mine.
What am I doing now? I am content being at home. Working is for the birds, and if I can help it, I'll never go back to work. My current ambition is to learn heirloom sewing so I can make christening gowns and other beautiful lacey clothing. I love to sew (both machine and hand stitching). Our older son, Eric (VMI 2004), is currently in Albuquerque, NM, a captain in the USAF, and is a co-pilot on the Osprey. His wife Staci is a stay-at-home mom to our beautiful granddaughter Savannah who is a very active 18 months old holly terror. What do they say about pay-backs being hell?
Our younger son Stephen (Citadel 2008) is stationed at Hurlburt Field, Ft. Walton Beach, FL where he is a lieutenant in the USAF and is an EWO on the AC-130. His wife Hope, a theraputic massage specialist, has opened her own business and is very busy.
Bill and I live in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of far western North Carolina. Did you know that there is a lot of this state west of Asheville? We are starting to do a lot of traveling around this wonderful country of ours and are constantly amazed by what we find on the backroads.
