Kathy's Story
Life
I have been happily married for 38 years to my wonderful husband Steve. We have three fantastic grown children, five adorable grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 24. By the end of 2005 we will be the proud great grandparents twice. Our daughter will finally be a Grandma. God certainly has blessed us. We lived in Oklahoma when Steve returned from Viet Nam to finish his military duty. From Oklahoma we moved to Florida. Florida was good to us. We were foster parents for several years and loved many children, three of the children we were able to adopt. Debbie was 9 and Jeff was 7 when they came into our home and our hearts and never left. John was a baby when he came into our home and hearts and he also never left. They brought us joy, heart ache, and joy again. We lived in Florida for 28 years and now reside in South Carolina. anne (the oldest) is the happy Mommy of Alyssa who was born the end of October, 2005, Jimmy (next in line) is the proud Daddy of Haleigh who was born in August of 2005, and Kayla (our middle grandchild) had better not be expecting anything except to remain on the honor roll in high school. Karley age four is also in school (grade K4) and her brother Jorden age three live about 30 minutes from us. Steve and I are very active in our church, we belong to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Greenwood. Our church family is a definate gift from God. Steve and I have taken in exchange students for a school year. The first young woman was a 16 year old from the Ukraine. She was here four years ago. Last year we had a 16 year old from Russia. Both young women are amazing and highly educated but still kids. They have kept us young. We are dog and cat lovers but currently are petless and we hope to remain "petless" for many years to come. I'd love to hear from all you former Vikings.
