Kathy's Story
My name is Kathy Mansfield Schmitz. I was born and raised in Albany. I went to school in Albany thru the 9th grade and then moved to Atlanta. I went to Magnolia Elementary, McIntosh and Albany Jr. High. I went to Cross Keys HS in Atlanta and then moved back to Albany after graduating. I only stayed there for about a year and then back to Atlanta. I worked as an investigator in the insurance industry and police departments for 25 years. I lived in Florida for 19 years and moved to NC in 1997 and continue to live here in a very small town norh of Charlotte. I have two children, a ...Expand for more
daughter who is now 26 and a son who is 15. A granddaugher that is 6 months old and is just the sweetest thing. I do a lot of volunteer work for the school board and I am very active with the PTSA's for several schools. I am active with fundraising for various organizations and charities. I try to teach my children to give back to their community and to learn right from wrong in their life lessons.
How will most remember me? I was the little sister to Sharon, the skinny little kid that followed her and her friends around. The band geek, the first friend to get her drivers license!
