Kathy's Story
Life
Since graduation I decided to leave Ohio behind and move on to beautiful California. I've been here for well over 17 years now and love it. I've been married to a wonderful US Marine for a little over 15 years. I have one child who is grown with her making us grandparents times 3! I have a successful wedding cake business here in So.California. Life is good!! My husband and I have a successful towing business. I recently made a trip back to Ohio in May to see my daughter and see my grandbabies.
School
After completion of my Associate Degree, I thought I would "venture" out I thought it was time to go in a different direction. When I saw where the opportunities were going I started a successful cake business. I specialize in wedding cakes. It's truly amazing that no matter how bad the economic situation is out there, people still want cake!
Workplace
With the success of my wedding cake business of which "really" keeps me busy from the months of April thru Christmas,it has really opened the doors of opportunity. ears of happiness and joy and seeing them smile is the biggest reward of success.
Our second adventure of our Towing Company has really earned it's stripes!! It has been a long hard road to success on this too! Our Towing Company is now a #1 towing company in our county with earning the ability to obtain 2 more tow yards and a "satelite" yard.
When I have "down time" from the cakes and towing business, I like to jump on my motorcycle and ride the stress off. It's a wonderful feeling when you get not only the wind blowing on your face but being able to really enjoy the country view. Other times, my husband and I, we take our Jeeps out and go climb over rocks with our Jeep Club members.
So listen out there to those who tell you, "work hard, play later", "live your dreams", They do come true!!
I was recently dealt a very hard blow with my family situation. These are the things in life that you never expected to happen. As a mother to my child, it is a very difficult situation. I was also dealt at the same time a second very hard blow with my health. So my time is running out. I live each and everyday as if to say,"Is this the day I go?, Is this it?". Do live your life as if it is your last day on earth! Do be kind to others, forgive too...
