Kathy's Story

Life Well, I can definately say my life is not how I thought it would be. I am still here in Bossier. I am working for Horseshoe as a Craps Dealer and I love it. I am in a long-term relationship and couldn't be happier about it. I am going back to school to finish my degree in Criminal Justice and hope to pursue a career as a CSI when I am done. I haven't changed much at all in the past 10 years. Still the same Kathy. I hope to hear from some of my old classmates soon. School Life in high school wasn't as bad as it sometimes seemed it would be. I made some lifelong friends from that adventure that I wouldn't trade for the world. Whenever I think back on high school and talk about some of the stuff we did, I never tell a story without Matt's name appearing in it somewhere. He really made high school and life fun. He and I have a lot of fond memories to tell about school and we wouldn't change a thing about it. Whenever I look back, I think the one teacher who inspired me the most was Mrs. Humphrey. For those of you that were blessed to have her, we all know how great of a teacher she was and friend to all. I will never forget our senior play and numerous trips to McDonald's for breakfast during her classtime. I can honestly say that I would not change a second of all the years in high school. memories and challenges made me the person I am today. College After leaving Bossier, my first stop was the University of Southern Mississippi. Going away for college was truly an experience that I would love to relive again. Between the parties and classes, those years were a wonderful blur to me. But times changed and I returned home to wonderful BPCC. Here I learned the true value of education and friendships. The faculty, staff, and my friends from BPCC taught me so much that I could never describe all of it. After my tenure at BPCC, I moved on to Tech. My stay there was short, cuz as we all know, life has a tendency to get in the way. So again, my education is put on hold for life. My next stop is closer to home at LSU-S. There I plan on finishing my degree and pursuing my career in life. Workplace Since high school, my work career has spanned from flipping burgers to retail to security to temp jobs to finally landing my current job as a dealer. The road to this "success" has been an interesting one. I can definately say that my current job as a craps dealer is the best I have had so far. I meet some interesting people every day and some that I care to never see again. This job has taught me how to grab life and not take stuff from anyone and that all people are the same no matter how much money they have.
