Life
My Spouse
I moved from Pennsylvania and enrolled in Hooks High School 1964. Met a great football player named Jeff Taylor. Dated on and off in high school. We continued dating through college. It was just great!
My Pets
I live in downtown Redlick, Texas. We have one rabbit acquired from our daughter's college career. There are two beautiful quarter horses on our land, two Tennessee Walking horses, and one crazy gaited horse. You will be greeted by three huge outside dogs, one mini-pin, one schnauzer,chichaua and a precious Maltese. Walking in the barn and looking in the rafters you find at least 20 barn cats. Should I go on with my animals or not?
My Job
It's a new world everyday when I walk in the fourth grade classroom! I do enjoy it though. I've been teaching writing (language arts) for many years.I am also a nurse, doctor,etc.
Then on Mondays Jeff and I go to the college and teach C& W Dance! It is alot of fun and we have met so many people.
Jeff and I retire at the end of this school year. We've put a total of 64 years in...Expand for more
public education. I believe we've earned a rest!
Retirement came in June and it's the best thing we've ever done. Jeff goes everyday to Oak Grove Golf Club located on Red River Army Depot. I have found the "Over the Hill Gang" that has trails all around Lake Wright Patman. I'm usually the only female two days a week but I ride well enough that I can go right on with the riders! Then on weekends it's either horse shows or taking off for the mountains of Arkansas or Oklahoma for trail rides and camp outs. IT's great. I drive my truck and trailer and love it!
I guess I need to mention it's 2008 now and I've gone back to work! LOL. I'm back at Liberty-Eylau but the good thing about this .... I begin in November and end in April. I work with third graders that need a little extra help in reading. I've been doing this for the last three years and love it.
Our daughter is also teaching at LE. She's a first grade teacher. We're not on the same campus and that is good.
We've been taking some good vacations the last two years and plan on more.
