Kathy's Story
Life
I have been living in Southern California for the last TWENTY-FIVE years (isn't that unbelievable?!). Where did ALL the years go?!
Currently, I'm the Accounting Manager for a Southern California property management company. Over the years, I've been able to try my hand at a variety of different professions from owning a beauty supply/salon -to working for the FBI - to working in Public Accounting and dealing with the dreaded "IRS auditors"!
My hobbies are golf, snow skiing, travelling & flying. I'm currently taking flying lessons and hope to have my private pilot's license in the next couple of months.
YES, I am still a "Sooner Born and a Sooner Bred and when I die I'll be a SOONER dead" so I have kept my OU football tickets all these years and go to at least one game a year - sometimes two - depending on which bowl game we go to. Needless to say, living out here in "USC Trojan" country has been a challenge - especially the last couple of years! I've really had to take my "lumps"!
I have one son, Jonathan, who is a 25-year old professional audio engineer. He's a great kid and quite a talented musician who plays the drums, the guitar and the keyboards. He and his band actually made a couple of CDs but - even though they had dreams of making t...Expand for more
he cover of "Rolling Stone" magazine - they never quite got "the big break", so he's going to try his hand at being a Record Producer instead.
I also have a "fur family" consisting of four cats which I love very much.
I miss the seasons and the summers at the lake but, especially in the fall, I get VERY homesick for Oklahoma. So, I make a point to come "home" regularly to visit family, go to an OU football game, and go to Sonic for a cheese coney and a slush!
School
I attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Workplace
Over the years I have "dabbled" in a little bit of everything from working for the FBI - to owning a beauty supply/salon - to working for large companies like General Motors and Kinko's - to working in our small family-owned CPA office. I have enjoyed all of my various jobs but probably found working for "the Bureau" the most interesting. Clearly, the most challenging, rewarding and FUN was owning my own business: a beauty supply/salon in our local mall. I LOVED trying all the new products and techniques! Currently, I am the Accounting Manager for a local propery management company. The company I work for owns and manages several large business/industrial complexes and multiple apartment complexes in Southern California.
