Kathy's Story
Right out of high school, I started working at a dinner theatre near Wash DC. I met my husband, Steve, there and we marrried when I was 22. Been married for 28 years now. We lived in New Jersey (Maplewood) for 7 years while working in NYC or on the road with show tours. Saw alot of this country touring with different shows in those years. We stopped that so we could start a family and moved to North Carolina (Apex) where we still are. Our kids are now 21 (a boy, David) and 17, (a girl, Jayme). We started our own business which has been operating now for 16 years .. a national dance competition calle...Expand for more
d StarQuest! Very proud of that. Started it from nothing .. 1 computer, 1 printer and a phone in a corner of our bedroom! We now have 3 tours going out every weekend in Feb, Mar, April and May. We employ 7 full timers and 75 contractors ... not in our bedroom, of course. We have office and warehouse space close to our home. I am still dancing, although it takes alot longer to "warm up" and get ready now. I compete in Pro-Am divisions of national ballroom competitions and I'm teaching ballroom classes (Salsa, Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha etc) 3 nights a week. Life is good! I've been blessed in so many ways!
