Kathy's Story
I attended Lake Charles High School my junior year. I transferred from LaGrange because I had a ton of friends that attended Lake Charles High. Before my junior year was over, I quit school and married my husband (now married 31 years). My husband and I moved and when I got pregnant for our son I received my GED. After many years of staying out of the loop of old friends and classmates, I have decided to try to reconnect. I am hoping that being here on Lake Charles High website will help make that happen. So even though I didn't graduate from LCH, I still have very fond memories of the school and of friends that I made while I was there.
My husband and I have one son together and I married into a ready made family of 3 boys and 1 girl making us a family of 7. Our son is 22 gonna be 23 in Jan. of 2011. He will graduate from McNeese in May of 2011. My husband is retired out of the Air Force and Civil Service. We lived in DeRidder while my husband worked at Fort Polk for many years. irement and we moved back to Lake Charles, which was my dream for years. I was able to take some time to school myself in photography, a long time hobby of mine. Nearly 4 years ago I applied for a business license and started Kat's Photography. I love my job, it keeps me very busy. My husband and I are both active members of American Legion Post 1 in Lake Charles. I signed a contract with them 2 years ago as their photographer. I travel for the American Legion on a local, state and national level documenting and photographing the many events surrounding current events and veterans and soldiers all over the globe. I have to brag that it is the best job in the entire world. I am truly blessed to be able to be around our nations hero's on a regular basis. I thank God for the riches of this job. It is what I was always meant to do.
This a little about me, 30 years is a long time to try in just a short story to get caught up. I hope that I can connect with someone from my past. It would be great to have a little blast from my past. You can also find me on Facebook under Kat Abshire.
