Kathy's Story
Life
Got married shortly after high school, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in 1979, who, I'm proud to say is a graduate of Virginia Tech (LET'S GO HOKIES). I'm also proud to announce the birth of my first granddaughter in 2006 who was born on my 50th birthday....awesome! I've had a passion for horses since I can remember, and have a Racking Horse that's taken me over many miles of trails. My 130 lb. Newfoundland dog is a bundle of love, fur, and drool. Love the outdoors (camping, fishing, hikes). My husband finally got me on a motorcycle couple years ago. Now I love touring on our Goldwing.
School
Have great memories of my Plant High days....interesting friends, first dates. Loved the...Expand for more
football games. I was an average student who didn't like the whole school regimen thing, so can't say I would do it over again. If I told you my biggest crush, he'd probably kill me.
Workplace
With only a few college courses under my belt, I managed to do well by getting promoted into administrative management positions throughout my career. I ended my business career as a facilities manager for a charter airline. Lot's of stress, but a terrific learning experience (including some not-so-ladylike words in my vocabulary). I have been fortunate to wind down my career days as an equine massage therapist. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to work with horses, and I actually get paid to do it!
