Kathy's Story
Life
I grew up in Shaker Heights attending Sussex Elementary, Byron Jr. High, and then Shaker Heights High School. Having spent so much time in Ohio, it would be tough not to consider it an alma mater, even though I graduated from Bronxville High School, just outside of New York City. Although it was tough to move, I had a fantastic senior year and it prepared me for my next big adventure, Ithaca College. I graduated in 1992 with a degree in psychology and minors in sociology and writing. I loved Ithaca and upstate NY so much I ended up staying there until 1997, when I was accepted into graduate school. I attended the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, IA, until 2001. ng my masters in social work, I moved to Philadelphia, PA, which is where I still reside. I worked in a human service agency, as a supervisor, for a few years, and married my husband whom I went to school with in Ithaca. (We kept in touch for all that time and he wouldn't go away! :) Currently, I'm at home with my 10 month old son, Connor, and our cat, Harvey. My husband is the director of operations for Native Eyewear, a sunglass company started by, and with, a close friend, another Ithaca College graduate. Overall, life has treated me well. I feel blessed and very fortunate. I hope to someday be in contact with those long lost friends (probably you). Go tribe! Hail King James!
