Kay's Story
Life
After leaving PHS I attended and graduated from Ohio State University. I then relocated to Chicago where I worked as an asst. editor for a publishing firm and then as a caseworker. I met and married my husband in 1967. He is an MD. We traveled for a while and then he went off to Viet Nam. At this time I earned my way by modeling and teaching at a modeling school. My husband stayed in the Army for nine years, so we moved all around the country. In 1979 he left the Army and we moved to Portland, Oregon where he went into private practice. iness and taught for five years throughout the Portland area.
My last career was as publisher and editor of Northwest Rider, an equestrian magazine, so in the end, I was able to get back to my editorial roots. This was a great job, as it combined my interest in horses (which I have always owned) and writing.
I have two children who are both adults, but unmarried. I currently spend my time volunteering and with my hobbies of reading, riding and writing.
Since I wrote the above, I have become a grandmother at long last. Baby Cora, named after my mother, arrived in April of 2010.
