Kay's Story
Life
Married for almost 30 years. Catholic. Four sons. Oldest 2 sons Mike and Joe, are married and practice law like their Dad along with one of my daughter-in-laws. Number 3 son, Tom is autistic but is doing well living independently. Youngest, Paul, is in college in Chicago. I work part time for the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and am serving my second year as President of the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of Michigan. Have one grandaughter and she's the joy of my life.....(finally a girl after all those boys!)

I work for the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Ocmprehensive Cancer Center, carrying out community based cancer research in Genesee County. Most recently, I carried out a case/control intervention among 1000 randomly recruited African American men to assess risk factors for Prostate Cancer. We assessed DNA, family history, and lifestyle factors and have published many articles in research journals to document our findings. I love my job but have recently cut back to part time in order to have time for volunteer committments & family.
