KayDel's Story
Kellogg (kindergarden thru 1/2 3rd grade) and Marysville (3rd to 8th). Marshall Class of 65. Portland Community College Associate Degree in Management/Supervisory Development 1977. Marylhurst Bachelor of Science in Management 1980 and Masters of Science in Management 1985. Masters Thesis was Church Management thru Computer Technology. Various Secretarial and Personnel Management jobs thru 1984, including a stint working for State Representative Jim Chrest in the 1979 Session of the Oregon Legislature where we stopped the building of further nuclear plants in Oregon until there was a safe method of storage of nuclear waste, and authorized the funding for the cross mall alignment of light rail. Volunteered for Citizens for Better Transit and Transit Riders Association to stop the Mt. Hood Freeway up Powell and get the money transferred to Light Rail in the Banfield Corridor. Volunteered on committees and as Board Chair for Good Samaritan Hospital Federal Credit Union. From 1985 to 2000, volunteered for the Board of Directors for Bradley Angle House, providing services for survivors of domestic violence. Served as Board Chair twice, and helped establish a transitional shelter which was named after my Sister, Andrea Lee, who was murdered as a result of do...Expand for more
mestic violence in 1975. Started working for the Internal Revenue Service in 1985 in Criminal Investigation for two years, was a tax auditor for 7 years, and worked on the Call Site answering the highly technical tax questions and teaching new recruits tax law thru 2000. I have been working as a Senior Stakeholder Liaison in Communications and Outreach doing tax education for small business and self-employed since 2001. I have one child, a son named Boyd Kirby Hamilton III, born in 1967. I am married to Mike Doster, now retired, who attended Clackamas High School. Have had a heart valve replacement and survived stage 3 colon cancer and have been in remission for 6 years. Also had breast cancer at the same time. I have been a volunteer for the Marshall High School Reunion Committee for several years, and worked on the 50th Reunion. I am now helping with planning our 70th birthday party for our class. Committee has slated Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Monarch Hotel near Clackamas Town Center for our 70th Birthday Party. Posted March 19, 2017. More to come.
January 2017 - Got a new car in December, but, couldn't drive anywhere because of the snow. See pictures below. Still working on 70th Birthday Party. Plan to retire September 30th, 2017.
