Keith's Story
Attended US Military Academy at West Point, NY after graduation. I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1973 while on Summer Training at Fort Carson, CO. Graduated and commissioned a 2LT on4 Jun 1975 with a BS in International Relations. Attended Parachute Training at Ft Benning and Officer Basic before my first assignment to Bamberg, GE. Married the younger sister of another LT in my unit. We have 6 daughters and 9 grandchildren; our youngest married an Army lawyer and returns this summer from GE following their first assignment. Spent 20 years in the Army, retiring as an LTC in 1995. s Planner at EUCOM HQ in Stuttgart, leading the team putting the campaign plan together for operations in the Former Yugoslavia. Got to travel into Sarajevo in the midst of the planning to coordinate with other NATO organizations and have eyeballs on the ground situation.). Also obtained an MS in Operational and Strategic Planning at Fort Leavenworth, KS in 1989. Afterwards, worked 9 years with Honeywell as a Sr Project Mgr, spending 4 more years in GE. Then went back to work as an Army civilian, serving as the Operations Director for the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command for 12 years. Retired in 2015 and moved to our home in UT, right in the center of the 2002 Winter Olympics playground. Have completed our basement and several similar projects in our home since moving here.
