Keith's Story

-revised August 2008- I hope that this brief biographical sketch combined with other various ramblings about myself finds all of my old friends and classmates in good spirits and in good health! It is totally impossible to cover everything in just a page or two, besides I wouldn't want to subject you to that much self absorbed ego driven Bull-#*% about me.But none the less I will try to cover a couple highlights of my story and I will also try not to bore you along the way! So here we go.....A little about Then and now! To me the best thing about school was that it was the only time and only place that all my closest friends as well as some other friends whom were not as close were all gathered together in one central location...That has not ever happened since then, even at the school reunions it has not really happened.... I dont believe that I ever really and truelly hated school,I just didn't like getting out of bed in the mornings... My favorite thing about school besides my friends was lunch time.2nd was study hall. My least favorite was math.I did hate math! The most wildest thing I ever did in high school was to recieve my diploma. The most stupid thing I ever did in high school-well I think that I will keep that one to myself... As for today,I am continually being blown away by the fact that I am now a father and answer to the call of dad, this is something that has taken me a long long time to get used to.The other thing that I have found to be alittle difficult to believe is as of now I have been in a commited relationship with my sons mother for well over seven years,Wow,I can't believe that I managed to keep any sort of a relationship with the huge responsibility's of this caliper alive and well(with exceptions of course)... My current age is 44. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be pretty old. I was so completely right. Currently we(my longtime girlfriend who may be possibly my better halve, our son and myself) live in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. These day's I drive a 98 Jeep Cherokee-Laredo! We also have a 17+ foot bass boat with a 90 hp outboard engine-her name is -"The Ruff Bi'otch"...Partially because of her haul is 3% pitched which makes for some pretty bouncy rides in choppy waters and partially because me and my friends just kinda like the name! It seems that I have spent most of all my adult working life as a chef or in some other restaurant related work...I have also done some really major delivery jobs(computer and computer products) which has allowed me to travel around the States a bit. I am still a big fan of the rock band The Who.I like the music of REM and U2(80's and early 90's U2 music)-Pearl Jam-Van Morrision-Tracy Chapman-Indigo Girls-Hot House Flowers-Sting's(from the Police) most all his solo stuff-Pink Floyd-Marvin Gaye-John Hiatt-...Man there are so many other bands and artists that I like today.... The Marx Brother's movies are some of my all time favorite comedies. The original cast members of SNL were the best, they always have been(includeing Bill Murry),this is without exception. I actually prefer the view in the mountains over the view of the beach, but I sure do like checking out the scantly dressed beach babes just the same.... We would rather buy American made over imported every chance we get. Finding American made is getting rare these days.. At the present moment I am in the middle of writeing a cookbook, this has been going on for some time now and I don't know if It will ever get finished...But that will be ok too if it never gets completed-either way will be fine! My favorite movies-I have more then a few but the top of the list are -Apocalypse Now - The Good,The Bad And The Ugly - Purple Rain(which I have seen no less than six times and yes the acting is pretty bad but there is just something about that movie) - The Usual Suspects - The Silence of the Lambs - The comedy known as Scary movie #2 ,And rounding out the list is - My Name is Nobody. As for myself,I would rather live on a sailboat or at the least maybe a house boat, the problem with this is I have issue's with mold and mildew. Actually for now we are renting a small townhouse as we sold our home a few years ago...Had an offer that we couldn't pass up!Besides my partner is trying to relocate with her job and its good to have the freedom to ju...Expand for more
st move at the drop of a dime if it comes to that.. I still believe that I myself was the originator of the popular grunge fashion movement in the 90's,it wasn't by purpose but purely by the lack of wardrobe funds includeing the absents of a belt for my jeans, this style of dress all began in my senior year of high school and never really changed until my mid 30's...LOL In all four years of high school at Loudoun County I never ever had any ill feelings at all for assistant principle Mr Martin, most everybody else seemed too have issues with him but not me,even when he suspended me from school for a week I still thought that he was ok! My favorite teacher from high school was Mr Parker, but the teachers I actually learned the most from were Mrs Drenning,Mrs Atwell and Mr Parker. But it seems that all my teachers had something to contribute to my education, even the study hall teachers helped me learn something from time to time... My biggest surprise in this life was when I first came to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is indeed a God in the heavens,a loveing God and not a God of all that hell fire and brimstone that I once was led to believe in my youth.I had grown rather skeptical about the existance of any kind of a God because of everything that pointed otherwise to the fact,Now I know for sure that God exists, He is there for me no matter what happens or what I have done. But this also means that I am not the god of my universe anymore(as if I ever was) & I don't always get everything my way, but today this is a good thing, A few of the more memorable moments in my life was when I helped to open a couple very sucessful Cafe / Restaurants in the South Island of New Zealand where I lived for many years and the other was when I decided to get sober and then followed thru with it... Current favorite food choices-Freshest Sushi and finest Steaks, then there is also the hot and spicy foods-Thia,Indian,Mexican etc... I have always liked the Washington Redskins,I have always liked them much better when they were winning! Yes, there are a few things that I wish I could go back in time and change.I will keep those things to myself! My first job was at a carwash in Southern Maryland, where I got paid very little to do what seemed to be a whole lot.I was about 12 or 13 years old. What I remember most about the job is that my father was my boss(my grandfather actually owned the carwash) but the real deal for me was that I was able to spend time with my dad who I never really knew too well at all.. Some of my fondest memories or Leesburg Va-1st of all there was all my friends that I hung around with,I often think about all the crazy stuff that we got away with,- There was also all those extremely Hot summer days I spent at the local swimming pool,- I remember walking down to the local 7-11 for Big Gulps or Slurpies and playing the spacey games ie- Pac Man,Tron and Pin Ball etc,- How about takeing some long walks around town on chilly autum evenings when the leave's were changeing colors, then maybe going to either the Leesburg Restaurant,China King or maybe even the Hawaiian Restaurant for some dinner,- On the 4th of July it was the old firemans carnival and the fireworks show that was put on every summer at firemens field,- I can also remember the combination of Uncle Abe's Ratskeller(pizza) and the Tally Ho theater(movie),-Later on in my high school years it was the crazy, crazy weekends, cruising and hanging out w/friends around the Pizza Hut parking lot while trying to find the party and then often ending up the evenings with some cold brews and some night time swimming out at the reservoir or in Goose creek, this was all real cool stuff to me......I need to also mention that one special first Love of mine from there in Leesburg,The one I almost married,Even today I rarely ever think about Leesburg without thinking about her. As you can see I am a little bit nostalgic. I am also one of those people who are not over-joyed with all the progress and growth that has been happening in and around Loudoun County...I will always remember Leesburg as a small town.... The last thing I will add is that In 10 years I hope to still be alive, clean and sober and of coarse not in jail. I also wish to remain a useful and active member of the human race for as long as I possibly can....Peace my friends!
