Keith's Story

Wow. It's been thirty one years since graduation. It was the time of Jimmy Carter, Saturday Night fever and Huckapoo shirts. Back then, I didn't know what I wanted to do..except graudate. I wasn't much for studying back then. In fact, I remember a guidence counselor suggesting I enroll in BOCES. Only one teacher, Mr. Schirone (Biology), had any confidence in my abilities or cared. That was then. Since graduation, I went on to college, where I earned a BS Degree in Finance, graduating with honors and being electd to the Nation Honor Society in Business. After several years of working in the financial services arena, I deciced to challenge myself again. In 1990, I was admitted to the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, (Yeshiva University,..now that's a switch) earning a Juris Doctorate in 1993. I was admitted to the New York Bar and after working for a few years for a small firm, I formed my own practice in 2000. I continued practicing in Brooklyn until last June, when I learned my dad was terminally ill. I literally picked myself up lock, stock and barrel and moved to Boynton Beach,Flroida, to spend the last months of my dad's life together. He died on February 11th and left a void in my...Expand for more
life. I was very proud of him and he had confidence in me and always let me know that he loved me. Well, I am starting over again, like I've done countless times in the past. I am currently studying for the Florida Bar Exam, which I look forward to taking and passing on July 29th and 30th. In between these events, I got married (to a very pretty woman eight years my junior), divorced (I needed more than just a beautiful face.. I am still looking for a real life partner) and had a serious relationship, once again with a beautiful woman (former Miss Tourism for Puerto Rico), since. If anyone remembers me, I doubt that this account of my life is anything like they would have expected. Life is funny that way. I guess I was a bit of a nerd or introvert then. But one thing hasn't changed. I am still the same nice and sensitive guy who cares about people and tries to help those who have been taken advantage of or who have experienced a crisis in their lives and don't know where to turn. I wasn't very close with my classmates back in high school. But, if anyone remebers me. please feel free to write and give me your account of those years when Disco was all the rage and Studio 54 was THE Club.
