Kelley's Story
You might know me from High School because: I was on the first gymnastics team, on the diving/swim team, a regular in Mr. Roberts class, in drama, debate, honors classes and drove a white VW square back sedan, aka "station wagon." I didn't drink, do drugs or smoke or party. I drink a little as I am a light weight but I have learned to party at last! Call me a late bloomer! I was a good student. I didn't move to San Angelo until the 9th grade and went to John Glenn and played in the band and stage band. I was on the cover of the SAST for going to register for HS in hot pants.
Life
Since the thirtieth reunion, I am single and have moved to Visalia, which is close to the giant redwoods and 35 miles from the mountains in the Central Valley. There is not much to do here so I go out of town a lot. I have become a Slum Goddess. I like the different problems to solve and abhor repetition. I have done amazingly well, work really long hours and then play hard. If timing is everything, I have gotten this one right! Until Obamanomics.... I have been in CA 24 years an managed to live in Republican areas here. The Central Valley is very conservative thought there is a noticeable absence of church activities for small towns.
I have one daughter at UC Irvine, and the other one is at San Diego State University. I will always remember Jan. 5, 2005 as UT Austin beat USC in the Rose Bowl...he he heh. USC is the University of Spoiled Children.
I love scrap booking and have started playing guitar again. I have an extensive antique doll collection, many I have restored myself. I have done some doll restoration for the public. It is a dying art.
I love to travel. Europe was first and I got to take the girls on a 3 week trip for their graduation presents. Ireland is my next goal. Cruises are a must! Finally got to Catalina, seem to do my back yard last! It was really fun if you don't mind doing all of the water sports in a wetsuit! The water is so cold here. I miss the Gulf Stream and Lake Travis where I raced sail boats with the water at 80 degrees. The surfing is better here though. I am on FaceBook with several of our other classmates and think it is a better place to catch up with each other. Join us!

y a grandmother! as of May 16, 2010 to Aurora. Some of you have grandkids in high school. I got a late start! She is amazing of course. It is a great season in life. I need to get my annuals out of storage. There were some great pages posted on Facebook from John Glenn. It doesn't seem possible we have been out of high school almost 40 years!
My parents have moved back to San Angelo and are still going strong. We still have the family ranch out of Sonora. Hunting still pays better than the goats. I wonder why I never took more friends there.
My house was Grand Central Station for my kids. You can see them on my
FaceBook site too. I feel very honored to still be involved in so many of their lives. I tutored most of them in Algebra and 12 of them credit me with getting them out of high school. 7 are military and 5 have been deployed to war and two are in England. My son in law is a Marine. It really changes your perspective when it is your daughter with a baby at home and daddy is in Afghanistan, Iraq or on a ship. There is no doubt that being a Marine's wife is harder than being a Marine.
I am in good physical shape and have managed to age better than most despite the CA sun! I have not had TV in over a decade. Not only do I not have time to waste, but the programs can be so bad! I do manage to find a friend's TV when UT or Dallas play. Of course we don't get all of the games out here as there are actually people out here who thing there are other more important teams! They seem slow to learn that if it's not Dallas, it's not Football! It is true that Texans are more into Football than other states. I went to a wear your favorite pro football team jersy party. Over half the people had on Cowboy shirts!
So post some pics and get in touch. Most of us are so over the out to impress agenda and want to know how your life turned out. Statistically half of us are divorced and have an inkling of wisdom. Our generation is now in charge. Now that is a scary thought!
My pic is with my girls. We went to the release of Pirates of the Caribbean II dressed in Pirate costumes. We put black eyeliner on all the guys that night. We named our bunny Captain Jack Spaz. I am usually on the other side of the camera.
