Kelly's Story
Life
I have been married to Sean Thomas since 1987. We have been very involved in volunteer work as Jehovah's Witnesses. We were told we couldn't have children, so we were foster parents for medically fragile children for a while. In 2001 we were able to adopt two great kids, Karl who is now 15 and Meagan who is 10. Then we got the shock of our lives when at 36 I got pregnant. Maxwell is 5 now. Since we became parents, I have stayed at home and love being a fulltime mom. I recently began homeschooling my kids, and love it. My husband is an RN, and works in the emergency rooms at Gary Methodist and University of Chicago.
School
There is not enough money in the known universe to entice me to relive high school. I do recall enjoying Mrs. Hewlett's classes very much though.
Workplace

enjoyed that very much. When my husband was transferred to the east coast for a couple of years, I had a great time working as an account rep for an advertising and direct marketing firm in Delaware. Since we adopted, I have found my calling as a fulltime mom.
Our family really enjoys camping. We do alot of bike riding and hiking with the kids. I also enjoy reading a good mystery when I have time.
What have I learned from my kids...Karl lived for six years in an abusive home, but is the kindest gentlest young man I know. Meg was abandoned by her mom, and is the most loving and loyal girl I know. Max was born at 26 weeks weighing only a pound, and endured 99 painful days in the NICU. He is the happiest, most joyful kid I know. So I guess I have learned you can be anything you want to be and never have to be a victim of your circumstances. All three of them are my heroes!
