Kelly's Story
Life
After High School, I attended the University of Utah and served a mission in Denmark for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I graduated from the University of Utah in 1980 with a BA in political science, and from the Columbia University School of Law in 1984. I married Julie Matis in 1984 (a fellow Columbia law student from Ogden, Utah), and practiced law for a couple of years in New York City, before returning to Salt Lake City and joining a law firm there.
In 1997, I became General Counsel to the Salt Lake Olympic Or...Expand for more
ganizing Committee, which staged the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
In 2003, I joined Savage Companies, a global leader in supply chain and materials handling, becoming Executive Vice President and General Counsel in 2008. I retired in 2022.
We have three children, two grandchildren, a dog, koi, and no mortgage. We enjoy travel and working in the Jordan River Temple. I enjoy photography and gardening. We’re planning to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints beginning mid 2025. Life is wonderful!
