Life Well, after graduating I took a job at the YWCA. I retired in 2002 after 23 years at age 41. I took 2 years off and then became a substitute teacher ~ K-5th only. I wanted to spend more time with my kids. I gave up substituting in 2006 because I acquired severe arthritus in both my knees. I have always been "weight challenged" if most of you remember. I was never the skinny, or moderately skinny, girl in my class (or anybody else's class). At some point I injured my knees over the years, and with the weight, it lead to no cartilage. Some think of it as a disability, I just see it as a inconvenience. Either way, I am limited at times to what I can do. Now on to my favorite topic. My girls are 14 and 18. Devon is in 8th grade at Needwood Middle School and has been a competitive dancer with Southern Strut for 9 years. Kalyn is a senior at BHS and plays volleyball. She has lettered all four years.
