Sue's Story
Hi Classmates! My name is probably not very familiar, except to those who I was a close friend. I grew up in California and transferred to QHS and was only there one before I graduated in 1972. I am a Respiratory Therapist and have worked for the State for 38 years. I now live in Springfield, IL moving here in 1987. I have developed various medical programs for persons living at home - for which the state pays for their care. One such program was Ventilator Care patients (Like Christopher Reeves who lived at home), another was for AIDS /HIV patients and I have developed contracts for service providers for with whom the State would not be able to provide care at home.
I have 2 sons: Adam, a Chef, Tony's II in Quincy and John who is a Heating and Air-conditioning Specialist. Both of my son's love to cook, but it was Adam who followed the family tradition ...Expand for more
of my father who was a Chef and owned and operated several Restaurants while I was growing up. It is a small world in which we live, I have had 5 patients who not only knew of my father's restaurants, but had eaten there many times.
I love to read and collect good books on Presidents. I teach Genealogy. And also following my family's tradition, I love to cook. When time permits, cooking being one of my greatest loves, I like to surprise families at church with little treats or meals. I once baked 75 loaves of Pumpkin Bread and gave one to each family at Christmas. No one expected it and that what made it so great. I often make meals for those who are ill. While I may not be able to change their circumstance, I can do this.
