Kelly Thomas:  

Command Sergeant Major Thomas J. Kelly, Jr. 526th Brigade Support Battalion 2nd Brigade Combat Team Fort Campbell, Kentucky CSM Kelly enlisted in the Army as a 62J (Construction Equipment Operator) in May, 1989. After completing Basic Training and AIT, he was stationed at Ft Drum, NY as part of the 642nd Engineer Company (CSE). While there he deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991. Upon returning from Desert Shield/Storm he reclassified to a 92A (Automated Logistical Specialist) and was assigned to Echo Battery-6/52 ADA Battalion (Patriot) in 1993, Ansbach Germany. During this assignment, he again deployed to Saudi Arabia, this time in support of Operation Intrinsic Action in 1993. In 1996, his next assignment took him to the land of the Air Assault Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he was assigned to the 227th Supply Company. He held numerous positions to include but not limited to Squad Leader, Section SGT, Warehouse NCOIC, Platoon Sergeant and BN Sling master. Having completed his time at Fort Campbell, the Army deemed it necessary to send CSM Kelly to Ft Polk, LA where he served as a Platoon SGT/Warehouse NCOIC in the Supply & Transportation Troop, Regimental Support Squadron 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment.
