Kelly's Story
Life
Living on Mackinac Island most of the time. Retired and doing some substitute teaching in our local Pre-K thru 12 school (graduated a class of 2 last year!!) while husband, Terry, works on his golf game. Will occasionally buy a house downstate to work on and sell. Current project is a log home in SE Mich. Interesting project. Just married off the first of three kids here on the Island on October 6, 2007. May be tempted to post my first photo when I get them. Oldest daughter, Tessa, works for The Nature Conservancy in Chicago. Middle daughter and new bride, Billie, is singer-songwriter with her husband Andy and lives here on the Island for now. Youngest son, Terrance, attends college and is a film major. All my kids make me burst with pride and have given us no problems, thank God! Terry & I spent the first seven years of our marriage playing in a band about 48 weekends a year along with our "day" jobs and building our first home. I also attended college at night during this. When our first was born I quit all of it and still wanted my old schedule back! At least I got 6-7 hours of sleep a night! I've taught high school, managed the legal department for our auto import business and helped my husband with his mid-life crisis job change... we bought a golf course in Atlanta, GA on a whim and proceeded immediately to build a clubhouse with restaurant and banquet facilities having had NO experiences in ANY of those businesses. Got homesick and exhausted and sold it eventually but learned a lot about chefs, bridezillas, fertilizers, etc. Retired now, but thinking of writing a book about THAT adventure!
