Ken's Story

Life Well I don't know were to start! I,ve been gone a long time and didn't make any of our class reunions! How are you doing and how is life treating you? Do you know where anyone else is and do we have a contact list so that I might contact other "Riffians"? Well lets get started from when I left High School. 1972…I went back to work turning wrenches at a two gas stations in Baker. Started Barstow Jr. College (this helped me stay busy, buy running track, etc. and to get over my H/School days). 1974…I finished my two years at Barstow JC and moved to Mesa a small city just East of Phoenix Arizona. I went to work and worked two jobs for several years. Meeting my 1975…I met my Wife early in the year and we were married later that same year. 1976…I started going to Medical School (Pre-Med), still working and became a Father in November with our first of six children (It’s a Girl)! My wife stayed working at Motorola until the baby came. She then became a housewife, did and still does take in some babysitting (that pays for our B-Days and Christmas…”Extra Cash”). 1977…Still going to Collage and now working at Arizona State Prison as a Guard. 1978…Started work with General Motors Corp. as a Test Driver and have to date logged apx. One million miles of driving. It’s a Girl (Yes, we had our second baby Girl). 1979-1981…Moved up to lead at work and started to run High-Speed Testing and in 1981 we had our first baby Boy born. 1982-1983…Moved up to a Supervisor over the GM Test Drivers and in 1983 we had our 2nd baby Boy born. Started investing/playing with Stocks and Bonds as an investment. 1984-1987…Started to teach Desert and Mountain Survival Classes for the Church and for the East Valley…Also started working with the Youth, Scouting, Coaching Soccer, Hiking, Merit Badge Counseling…”OK I STARTED TO GET VERY BUSY!” We had our 3rd little baby Girl in 1987. 1988-1990…Still doing everything I dropped out of Pre-Med School…General Motors offered me too much money, so my lif...Expand for more
e took another turn and I agreed to stay on with GM at least for a few more years. In 1990 we had our 3rd little baby Boy. Now that brings us up to three Boys and three Girls…”Bet you never guessed that we Love our Children and that we are very strong members of “The Church-of-Jesus Christ-of-Latter-Day Saints!” Well we believe in God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost! “NO I’m not a religious fanatic, but I do know that God does live and Jesus Christ died on the cross for our Sins so that we might have life after death. 1991-2004…We are still going strong our first two daughters have been married (No Children yet…getting there feet on the ground). One teaches at ASU and husband is in Banking the other lives my dream and is in the medical field with her husband. Our oldest Son just came back from his two-year church Mission to The state of Washington and Idaho. Our second oldest Son is in school to become a Dentist, my third oldest Daughter is a senior in H/School and works part time for the City of Mesa. Our youngest Son has just started Cross-Country and will be running Track as a ninth grader this year. For those of you that remember my brother and I in Track at Barstow High…”Well Ed and I did well in the quarter mile with Ed turning 47 seconds in the quarter mile and me at 50 plus seconds, but my youngest Son looks like he might bring back a lot of good memories…”HE IS FAST!” Well we will see. 2004…I will retire in 2009 or 2010, I have been wanting to do some business ventures and I don’t have the time with everything else. We bought into, three Oil Wells about two years ago and have started my own Corporation Year. As for the Oil Wells, two have come in (“Nothing Big”) the other one was Dry. I was going to do some stuff with some Gas Drilling, but a little too rich for our savings. I’m now doing some things with Homes & Land (My Company is called "Arizona Home & Land Investments, Inc.) I can pass this down to Family! School See Bios (LIFE)!
