Ken's Story
Life
I married in 1990. We have one daughter born in 1994. Since graduation I have not only been all around the country, but all around the world. Have met some great people and made some good friends.
College
From 1993 to 1995, I attended evening class at Hawaii Pacific University where I earned an Associates of Science in Data Processing and and Assiciates in Management. From 2001 to 2004, I attended Old Dominion University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Applied Mathematics.
Workplace
Reported to the Pentagon in November 2007 for a three year tour of duty.
Military
Enlisted in the United States Navy in 1988. Attained the rank of Petty Officer First Class (Surface Warfare), serving at a number of commands. My primary commands included, USS MCCANDLESS (FF 1084), USS OUELLET (FF 1077), and Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit One. I was selected for commissioning under the Sea...Expand for more
man-to-Admiral Program in 1995.
Following Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, commissioning in June 1996, and the Division Officer Course in Newport, Rhode Island, I served aboard USS STOUT (DDG 55) as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and USS KLAKRING (FFG 52) as the Ordnance Officer and Combat Systems Officer. In 2004, after attending the Department Head Course in Newport, Rhode Island, Aegis Combat System OfficerÂs Course in Dahlgren, Virginia, I served as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer for DDG Crew LIMA aboard USS LABOON (DDG 58), USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66), and USS STOUT (DDG 55). Currently I am attached to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations as the AEGIS Weapon System and Ships Self-Defense System Requirements Officer.
My military awards include the Navy Marine Corp Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Marine Corp Achievement Medal (five awards), and a number of other personal and campaign awards.
