Life Out of high school, I decided to try racing harness horses, and went to Detroit, Mi. to work. I was in and out of the racing business from then until I moved to AZ in 1980, and I sold the last 5 horses I had. I've not gotten back in racing since. I served in the military from June 1962 to June 1964. I got married in 1966 to Joyce Klopfenstein of West Unity. We had 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. I went to work for the telephone Co. in 1967 at Bryan, OH. In Sept. 1968 I went to work for the bell system and worked 11 yr. in Hillsdale, MI. In 1980, I transfered my job to Casa Grande, AZ and retired in June 1999. I started a traffic control business in Mar. 1987 to give my son a job, and also our town needed someone to rent equipment as the nearest towns with a business was 50 and 60 miles away.
